Archaeology Works: Bioarchaeology

Indian River State College - Richardson Conference Center, Mueller Campus, Vero Beach 6155 College Lane Vero Beach, FL 32966

March 30, 02:00:00 PM — 03:30:00 PM

Our bones tell the stories of our lives. Bioarchaeologists specialize in the study of human osteology with the goal of interpreting past lifeways from the information they gather. Archaeology Works is an involved, hands-on approach to learning about how archaeologists conduct research. This talk will cover fundamentals of bioarchaeological research, some history of the topic, and use the Vero Site as an example of how bioarchaeology is utilized. A series of learning stations will then provide attendees with a hands-on opportunity to understand some basic bioarchaeological investigative techniques. **Registration is required for this lecture
