The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist on their first day!

Learn about new techniques and 3D documentation tools being used to help preserve endangered heritage sites in Florida. Demonstrations, hands-on learning with Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, and 3D scanning and imaging. Event in celebration of Florida Archaeology Month. and in partnership with FPAN West Central. Event will take place near the main entrance, inside, of the USF Tampa library. Please be aware that parking is not free on site though pay stations are available throughout campus parking locations.

Time Sifters Archaeology Society Lecture Series - Monumental Mound Complexes of Northwest Florida by William M. Stanton, Archaeologist, Florida Park Service Lake Jackson (1000—1500 CE) and Letchworth (300—750 CE) Mounds are two of the most significant archaeological complexes in NW Florida and likely functioned as major regional centers of social, political, religious and economic activity during their respective periods of significance. Although only 20 miles apart, the sites are separated by centuries in terms of construction and occupation. Here William Stanton of the Florida Park Service discuss these mounds of Northwest Florida.
