Join us for our next ArchaeoCafé to celebrate the inaugural Gulf Coast Science Festival from March 8-17! UWF Assistant Professor of Anthropology Dr. Greg Cook discuss the archaeology of a Dutch ship that sank off the coast of Ghana, Africa in the 17th century. Dr. Cook investigated this wreck for his dissertation. ArchaeoCafé is free and open to the community. Seating is unreserved. The talk starts at 6:00 p.m. and guests are recommended to show up by 5:30 p.m. to place food and drink orders before the fun begins!

Join Dr. Uzi Baram of the New College Public Archaeology Lab and Jeff Moates of the Florida Public Archaeology Network as they discuss the history and archaeology of Cuban fishing sites along Florida’s Gulf Coast. These events start at 7pm in the Crocker Memorial Church located at 1260 12th Street. They are FREE to Historical Society members and $10 at the door for nonmembers. Bring your friends and participate in lively and informative discussions. Bidwell-Wood House is open beginning at 6 pm for touring before the meetings.
