Description: Come on out to the Central Ridge Library to hear about Build a Better World: Steamboats: A Snippet of History with the Floral City Heritage Museum

Many a steamboat came ‘round the bends of the Withlacoochee River and other inland rivers of Florida during the years before the 1900s. Frank Peters, Floral City Heritage Museum Director will share fascinating facts and stories about this main mode of transportation in those years. Hear about these early water-traveling days, the difficulty of navigating during low water, the small ferries and early bridges that provided crossings and the steamboats that carried passengers, produce and supplies.
