Paddle Through History – August

DATE: Aug 21st, 2024
TIME: 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM EDT

LOCATION:
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area
600 County Hwy 707, Tequesta, FL, 33469

Come learn about the archaeology of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area from an aquatic perspective with Florida Public Archaeology Network – Southeast Region!

This FREE guided paddle launching from the lighthouse shore encompasses archaeological, environmental, and historical knowledge of the ONA. We will climb the lighthouse before going out on the water with staff from the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.

The paddle will be at a casual pace with multiple stops on the way. We will be on the water for around 2 hours so bring sunscreen and water!

Please bring your own kayak or paddleboard.

Meet in the South parking lot of the ONA (located on the right just before going over the bridge to Jupiter Island) at 10 am and FPAN will let you through the Gate and you can drive in and unload kayaks on the shore before climbing the lighthouse.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM PARKING LOT, it is just a little further east on S. Beach Rd.

We will be meeting at 10 am in the parking lot and beginning the climb at 10:30 am, giving us time to unload.
