This activity introduces students to prehistoric culture, focusing on ways that local prehistoric people used fire to meet their daily needs. An experiment provides a bang as we use balloons (and water balloons!) to explore how precontact people could cook prior to the advent of pottery. There is fire and water balloons used in this activity, but we work carefully to keep both contained and as safe as possible!
